LITTLE HATS, BIG HEARTS

American Heart Association needs your help!

Volunteers for the American Heart Association are celebrating American Heart Month by knitting red hats for all babies born in February at participating hospitals.  By knitting these little hats, The American Heart Association is raising awareness of heart disease, the number one killer of Americans, and congenital heart defects, the most common type of birth defect in the country.

The American Heart Association has asked GHSS knitters/crocheters to participate in this important program, Little Hats, Big Hearts™, by making one or more little red caps. If you knit or crochet won't you  please contribute?

If you can help, we are providing below links to patterns and instructions for three little red caps. Please use red washable yarn only. Barbara Hays  will be collecting the hats on February 18th in Deering Town Hall during the Chinese New Year Luncheon.

Little Hats, Big Hearts™ started in February 2014 in Chicago, IL collecting 300 hats in the first year.  The program has now expanded to 29 states. We are thrilled to have so many volunteers interested in Little Hats, Big Hearts™!

Thank you for making this program so special and for helping to spread awareness of heart disease and congenital heart defects.
